GEAR UP Iowa: Families

What is GEAR UP Iowa?

Iowa College Aid’s most recent grant launches the GEAR UP Iowa Future Ready project with $5.6 million funded by the U.S. Department of Treasury through the American Rescue Plan. This project will support the cohort through their senior year. GEAR UP Iowa’s goal is to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in gaining further education after high school. 

The class of 2025 at these schools are part of the GEAR UP Iowa Future Ready Cohort:

  • Centerville, Clinton, Columbus, Davenport, Davis County, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Marshalltown, Saydel, South Tama, Storm Lake

GEAR UP students will get: tutoring/academic support, college exposure, career exploration, development of social and emotional skills, key wrap-around support, financial literacy, assistance with the FAFSA, transition support, and more!

Your student is automatically a part of GEAR UP if they attend one of our schools their 9th grade year during the 2021-2022 school year.
