National Service Programs

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a program administered through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an independent federal agency whose mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Iowa College Aid hosts two AmeriCorps programs with the shared goal of increasing college attainment in Iowa.

AmeriCorps VISTA

Iowa College Aid’s AmeriCorps VISTAs are hosted in Iowa LCAN communities. They provide support in the implementation of Iowa College Aid’s 3-Step Process, building capacity for the school districts to sustain the program into future years.

AmeriCorps State

Iowa College Aid is in the planning stage of the AmeriCorps State grant, building a program with the goal of increasing college attainment from the ground up. Iowa College Aid plans to host AmeriCorps members in communities throughout Iowa who will assist students with FAFSA completion and keep students on track throughout the summer between high school graduation and college enrollment.
