Course to College Corps

AmeriCorps is a program administered through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an independent federal agency whose mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Iowa College Aid hosts two AmeriCorps programs with the shared goal of increasing college attainment in Iowa.

AmeriCorps VISTA

Iowa College Aid’s AmeriCorps VISTAs are hosted in Iowa LCAN and GEAR UP Iowa communities. They provide support in the implementation of Iowa College Aid’s college access program, building capacity for the school districts to sustain the program into future years.

VISTA Positions Available!

Iowa College Aid will host multiple AmeriCorps VISTA positions throughout the state of Iowa, beginning in July, 2017. These positions provide the opportunity to work with school counselors, educators and other community organizations to expand the community's college access programming by implementing Iowa College Aid's new name here.

Each VISTA will develop toolkits, processes and strategies to increase the number of completed college applications and FAFSAs, especially for low-income and underrepresented students. The VISTA also will assist Iowa College Aid in developing statewide FAFSA completion, Summer Melt and college fit/match toolkits, and then adapt the components to their community's needs.

Apply now for a position at the below communities to not only be part of a program that will help thousands of Iowans choose a path to a successful future, but also will build upon your program implementation, communications, leadership, team work and public speaking skills.
