Required Documents - Gov. Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship

The following documents are required for submission of the Governor Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship application. You will have the ability to either type or copy and paste the following information into fields in the Iowa State Fair Scholarship application (included in the Iowa Financial Aid Application process). Do not submit this information prior to the application period; the information needs to be provided on your application. The Iowa Financial Aid Application will be available on October 1.

Please note: The items below should be provided as lists. Only the essay should be in a paragraph format.

Extracurricular Activities

Applicants must provide a list of activities they have participated in during high school. Include a brief description, the grade level, hours per week of involvement and offices held, committees or special projects you were involved with, and/or special recognition received for your involvement. (max. 2500 characters)

Volunteer and Community Services

Applicants must provide a list of their participation in community service and volunteer activities. Include a brief description, the number of months and hours per week of involvement, and special recognition received for your involvement. (max. 2500 characters)

Iowa State Fair Involvement

Applicants must provide a list of all events and include special recognition received for involvement in the Iowa State Fair. This list should include all Iowa State Fair exhibit(s), performance(s) or participation, including but not limited to: employment, volunteer work, competitions, performance groups, representation of organizations) including plans for the next Iowa State Fair. Information provided in this section should not appear in any other section of the application. (max. 2500 characters)

Essay

Applicants must provide a description of how the Iowa State Fair has affected their life. This description should include concrete examples and illustrations as evidence. Essays that do not meet the 400 word requirement will be disqualified. Points will be deducted for spelling and grammatical errors. Do not use acronyms.
